This week inside Joyful:

  • One 20-min yoga nidra — doing nothing, restoring everything

  • One simple experiment — to match your energy to what you actually need to do

  • One menu of state-shifters — for when you’re wired, flat, or just done

You know that feeling where you need to do something, you want to do something, and yet… the motivation doesn’t come?

You stare at the task. You open the tab. You close the tab. You make another brew.

And then you start asking: what’s flippin’ wrong with me?!

So you push. You white-knuckle your way through it. And by 4pm you’re face-down on the sofa wondering why you’re so exhausted when you didn’t even do that much.

Are you totally lacking in motivation? Are you actually a bit broken?

No.

You’re probably dysregulated, and you tried to think your way out of a body problem.

Motivation doesn’t come first, it comes after your nervous system feels safe enough, settled enough, and regulated enough to actually engage with reality.

You can’t discipline your way into that state, but you can learn to work with it.

That’s this week’s mission.

Here’s the change we’re making this month:

Energy isn’t earned, it’s protected.

This week is about:

Not pushing harder. Not finding your why. Not making a better to-do list.

It’s about learning to read the state you’re actually in and actually doing something about it before you try to force your way through the day.

Two minutes of the right thing beats two hours of the wrong thing. Every single time.

Let’s dive in…

A taste of what’s inside this week:

→ The state-shifter: Before you do anything today, ask yourself one question: Am I wired or am I flat? Then — and this is the whole thing — do something about it before you start. Wired? Slow your breath down for two minutes. Flat? Move your body gently for five. It sounds too simple. It isn’t.

The class, the full experiment, the complete state-shifter menu, and this week’s reflection are all waiting for you below.

This week we go one layer deeper still.

Because once you start noticing your patterns, you realise that it’s rarely about motivation, and it’s almost always about state: the state your nervous system is in before you even attempt the thing.

This is where everything starts to make sense.

This week’s class: Do Nothing. Restore Everything.

This is a twenty minute yoga nidra, no movement required.

You lie down. That’s it.

I know it sounds like a nap, but it’s not. Yoga nidra is one of the most deeply restorative practices there is, and the research behind it is genuinely wild. Twenty minutes can feel like hours of sleep for your nervous system.

This is the most powerful week this month, my friend. People actually feel different after this stuff, and from there, life just gets easier.

Get supremely comfortable and let me take it from there…
