Brilliant pointers, and observations, Chloe! I especially appreciate how you sagely note the importance of replacing one's habit with something else, because otherwise, they'll just go back to scrolling.
Thanks so much, Lang! Yeah totally—I love this part of habit-replacement. Although right now I’m working hard to accept more boredom into my days (instead of blindly reaching to check my notifications). It’s actually really soothing!
That's so cool, Chloe! There's something about living more contemplatively--aka accepting more boredom--that really does clear out the clutter within us, and uncover the peace (the soothing), confidence, clarity, cheerfulness, and kindness that's always within us.
Yeah I’m SO finding this. It’s that clutter-removal that’s so mentally helpful, for me at least. Baseline level = ease, and this doesn’t happen when every spare second of the day is switched on.
100%! Over the last few months, the life coaching and soul care courses I'm in have really driven home to me how life-giving (and important in the helping professions) it is to live contemplatively (i.e more spaciously, slowly, purposefully, and consciously). Being "switched on" less, has been making a big difference!
Thanks Chloe for this!!! A wonderful aid. I will use some of those tips- definitely scroll too much 🙈
Thanks, Georgie! So glad it resonated — thanks for reading (and hope the tips work) 🧡
